Medical Doctor and Researcher

About me

I’m Ewen, a medical doctor, histopathologist and health sciences researcher. I have experience working in both public and private healthcare settings.

I completed my PhD at the University of the Witwatersrand where I studied the effectiveness of using Generative Artificial Intelligence in pathology teaching and training by augmenting real-world pathology images with synthetically created image data when real samples are scarce.

I have published extensively in well respected peer-reviewed journals including Acta Cytologica, Advances in Anatomic Pathology, American Journal of Clinical Pathology, Cytopathology, Histopathology and Journal of the American Society of Cytopathology.

I have also peer reviewed manuscripts for prominent journals including Acta Cytologica, American Journal of Clinical Pathology, Cytopathology, Journal of Clinical Medicine, Journal of Clinical Pathology, Laboratory Investigation and Modern Pathology.

I have extensive experience in teaching undergraduate and postgraduate health science students and supervising postgraduate medical research.
